Under Construction is a 2018 video work that uses the image of a construction site as both a literal and metaphorical condition. The title refers to the visible state of the space, but also to the idea that human life and identity may remain continuously under construction. The work began from the observation of a person struggling to complete and inhabit their immediate environment, suggesting a wider difficulty in relating to the world around them. Through the unfinished space, the video reflects on incompletion, uncertainty and the ongoing process of becoming. In a building, being under construction may signal dysfunction; in a human being, it may be the only stable truth.
