Lydia Vairaktaraki is a visual artist born in Milwaukee, USA, in 1995. She began her studies at the HKU University of the Arts in Utrecht, Netherlands, and continued at the Athens School of Fine Arts, where she graduated from the Sculpture Department in 2022.

She has participated in group exhibitions at museums and institutions such as the Benaki Museum 138 and Kastela Art Center in Piraeus. In 2024, she presented her solo exhibition “Introspection” at the METS Art Center.

In addition, she has worked in film and television productions industry, including series and films for Netflix, Disney and Apple TV+, primarily in assistant director positions.

Her work engages with social issues, approaching them at times from the individual toward the collective, and at other times from the collective back to the individual.

Her goal is to create participatory artworks and create which essentially create impact within the viewer and this result in itself is the art.
